Love Gone Wrong (Remix) - Project Move

This is a joint that both I and the artists loved, but no one ever really heard.  I did the Love Gone Wrong Remix as a bonus for my first mixtape back in 2006.  I did a four-song bonus disc for “The Proof” called “Exhibit A. This was one of the four, along with tracks by Danielle Scott, J The S, and Pastense.

To this point, I’ve never done an original track with the members of Project Move*, just a couple remixes, this being the far better of the two. (The other being “La La” which appeared on “The Proof”)

The original beat for this song was a similar throwback (read early 90’s sounding) joint by Zazar.  I always dug the beat, but when the label sent me a couple acapellas to possibly remix, I felt like this one needed a more somber treatment.  Especially when in the second line of the song, Moe Pope states “my sister got raped at 12 years old.”

I can’t remember what the sample is for the life of me, maybe someone can help me out.  I can say that this was a quick one to do, it’s really just the sample, bass and drums. And the pizzicato strings, I did that too.  The hard part was the verses are odd lengths, and therefore so is the loop.

I only printed 100 copies of “Exhibit A,” and I actually maneged to move all of them, but for whatever reason, this track was never much talked about.
